I've recently done mine. Add/Remove the main norton program, once done you may have to restart, then Add/Remove the LiveUpdate. Then run the norton removal tool, then delete any Norton %26 Symantec folders from your Program Files. Restart and all should be fine.

There can be a problem completely clearing Norton. Go to the following link for help . http://service1.symantec.com/support/tsg...
Download Norton Removal Tool just Google it. Its quite straight forward
Control Panel - Add/Remove Programs - remove the Symantec programs. Hopefully you are replacing Nortons with a new anti virus.
Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel
Go to Start - Control Panel - Add/Remove programs and uninstall it from there.
Use the norton removal tool
