How can i safely turn off Norton Internet Security?

Sometimes i am playing Counter-Strike or something, and i can hear my computer making noise, and i lag a lot in my games.. it is really annoying. And since Norton is such a memory sucker, i think that's the problem, because before i had Norton, nothing like this happened. So is there a safe way to turn off Norton?

I reccomend uninstalling Norton and Downloading AVG virus protection.

AVG is free and nothing of a memory hogg like norton, I use windows firewall, avg virus protection and adaware anti spyware, all free and all free of problems.

ya just disble it by right clicking its

icon in the utility tray at te right corner of ur desktop

u can also exit it

lateron u can easily start it again
