I'm guessing McAfee is the problem because it's been the source of every other recent problem I've had. Does anyone know how to fix it so that my whole computer doesn't lock up every time I try and start my cam? Except for the obvious uninstalling McAfee?

your firewall with mcafee is probably set to block your webcam connection go into the mcafee center and look at your firewall settings and unblock your webcam that should work
