I have always used Limewire but got hit with a malware virus. I know when you buy programs like winamp and limewire that there is less advertising, but is the security better also?

It depends on how you use it. You have to be careful what you download. Even if you have the Pro Edition. It can't stop you from using the program unsafely.

Um, no, that wont make you immune from getting a virus. The more illegal stuff you download thru Limewire, the greater the chances are of getting a virus. If you dont want a virus, then you need a second computer and some really good anti-virus and anti-rootkit software and to scan everything you download before using it. Even MP3 files can be made into viruses and trojans.
